"Millefiori"

Millefiori - Definition: a type of mosaic glass made with various-colored and -sized cross-sections of fused glass rods, esp. used in paperweights.
Etymology: Italian mille fiori `thousand flowers'.

The Millefiori glasswork technique has evolved and more recently in multi shaped beaded jewellery...working for a jewellers I get far too many jewellery related words stuck in my head. Millefiori beads are so richly coloured and look like pretty and juicy little sweeties.
